Field Training and Support with Flexibility

Business Challenge

A corporate client requested a training program that would provide consistent, comprehensive training to local and field technical support representatives. The goal was to educate the field representatives at their own pace, without some of the constraints of classroom training, such as lost time in the field, travel expenses, and scheduling conflicts.

Solution

Gillespie Associates developed a multi-module, self-study program that was rolled out to local and field personnel over several months. The course provided broad-based exposure to about a dozen critical technical areas by incorporating a wide variety of source documents for participants to explore, including:

  • Technical data sheets
  • Articles from scientific journals and mainstream magazines
  • Internal publications, memos, and bulletins
  • Case studies
  • Research papers
  • Textbooks

A built-in certification process made it easy for the client to track module completion. Training administrators had the option of either using the materials as purely self-paced modules or integrating them into classroom-based training as needed.
